At JOMA Sustainable Agriculture Foundation, we are dedicated to transforming agriculture through sustainable practices, environmental conservation, and community empowerment. Located in Bugiri District, Eastern Uganda, our impact extends countrywide as we train farmers, promote organic farming, and develop innovative agricultural solutions.

JOMA Sustainable Agriculture Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering communities through sustainable farming and agribusiness. We integrate maggot farming, fishery, piggery, crop farming, livestock keeping, and irrigation to ensure year-round food production.

PROGRAMS
Sustainable Crop & Irrigation Program 🌾💧
This program focuses on year-round crop production through modern irrigation techniques. Farmers are trained to use organic manure and eco-friendly practices to grow crops such as maize, vegetables, and fruits for food security and commercial purposes.
Integrated Livestock & Poultry Farming 🐄🐔
We support smallholder farmers in piggery, goat rearing, rabbit farming, and poultry (chickens, quails, guinea fowls, and turkeys) to increase household incomes and improve nutrition. Training includes disease control, feeding techniques, and sustainable breeding.
Aquaculture & Maggot Farming Project 🐟🌱
To boost protein production and economic empowerment, we run fish farming projects combined with maggot farming as a cost-effective feed alternative. This initiative reduces fish feed costs and promotes sustainable aquaculture practices.
Organic Waste Recycling & Biogas Energy 🔄♻️
We convert agricultural waste into organic manure and biogas energy. Farmers are trained in composting techniques, using farm residues for biogas production, and reducing dependence on synthetic fertilizers.
Women & Youth Agribusiness Training 👩🌾👨🌾
Empowering women and young people with hands-on agricultural skills to help them become self-reliant. Training includes financial literacy, business planning, and forming cooperatives to ensure long-term success.
Environmental Conservation & Tree Planting 🌍🌳
This program focuses on reforestation, soil conservation, and biodiversity protection. We encourage farmers to plant trees alongside crops to prevent soil erosion, improve air quality, and restore degraded land.
